Ford’s biggest secret

The history of the Ford GT car is amazing, and they all are using glory from the first model, the GT 40. In the 60’s Ford wanted to buy a Ferrari, but at the last minute Ferrari cancelled that agreement, so Henry Ford ordered to the engineers to make him a car that will ‘’crush’’ Ferrari car. So they did, GT 40 dominated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 1964, 1965 and 1965.

In the 2014 Ford made Latest GT model, but it was kept as a secret so still almost nobody knows of its existence. It was made by 6 designers, in a basement (door has standard lock, instead of the electronic ID card). They usually worked at night or on weekends, and it was out the basement only on weekends, when nobody was at the factory! The code-name of this car is Phoenix, and before the Detroit auto show, nobody know that it even exists.

This was the biggest secret Ford has ever had. The reasons for that was the bureaucracy that could slow down designing this car, and the effect on its rivals. This is $200.000 plus hypercar, and it will be in the production in the 2016. Maybe Ford will do the same trick as on the last GT model, invite chosen customers to buy it! I believe that list will be long and extremely hard to get on it.

Ford’s grandson, Henry Ford III, was also involved in the new GT development, it was the 50th anniversary of the original GT40, and so they had to do something, so they made new GT. It will be on the cover of the Forza Motorsport 6" Xbox video game.
